At the age of 10, Janeen began her study of the harp under Bonnie Steinkamp in Seattle, Washington. When she was 16, her family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where she continued her studies with Victoria Lidmark. With the help of Victoria, she completed a certification in music therapy. Also in Colorado Springs, she performed with the Peakharmonic Youth Orchestra. She then studied Harp Performance at Brigham Young University-Idaho under the direction of Sherry Pack and later Alicia McQuay (a former student of Suzann McDonald). There she also performed with the BYU-Idaho Symphony Band, Harp Ensemble, Women’s Glee Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble. Since 2013, she has been teaching harp to students of varying levels.
